Three hundred years ago, during the reign of King Tommen Baratheon, the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, and Queen Margery of House Tyrell, the creeping reign of Daenerys Targaryen ultimately proved to be futile. Her attempts to cross the narrow see failed time and again, ending once and for all with the death of her dragons, and eventually the death of her very lineage. Additionally, the White Walker’s stormed over the Wall and devastated the North. They came in such full force that a great fear spread throughout the land, fearing that they would indeed bring a long night. Thus the Seven Stubborn Kingdoms were forced to unite and form The Great Wall of Man, forming a border along The Neck and The North, effectively pushing the White Walker invasion back.

For their great bravery, the Wildlings were rewarded the Wall and the two Gifts south of the Wall. They live in freedom and rule the Wall with a new set of rules and regulations. As great changes were made to The Wall and the Night’s Watch, so those changes would spread throughout Westeros. New alliances were formed, some grievances were forgiven, and enemies, both new and old, resurfaced.

During this time, young Edric Storm, a known bastard of Robert Baratheon, had been biding his time. Being a recognized bastard of Robert, with a noble mother, Edric was convinced he had the strongest right to the throne. He was aided with the expert help of Olenna Tyrell, the Queen of Thorns.

Olenna had been hiding Edric and his older sister Bell, the daughter of Robert and his favorite whore. She married Bell off to one of the smaller houses of the Shield Islands in the Reach, House Grimm, and promised Edric the throne if he would keep Margery as his wife and queen. Seeing the beauty of Margery and all that she had done and been through already, Edric accepted. Olenna warned that taking the throne would be no easy task and warded him off to one of the Knightly houses of the Reach as well, to be trained.

Soon after The White War, he stormed King’s Landing and denounced King Tommen as a child of Cersei and Jaime Lannister. Tommen and Margery’s children hadn’t survived the war, but the true blood of Robert was strong in Edric, and by looks alone there was no denying his claim. Nevertheless Edric took King’s Landing by force, having the backing of several Northern houses, the banner houses of the true Baratheons, and several houses of the Riverlands.

Like his grandfather before him, Edric had three sons. His eldest and heir inherited accordingly. The second son married and reclaimed Storm’s End. Finally the third son married as well and reclaimed Dragonstone. Edric’s line continued on with relative peace, until the current king. King Alexander of House Baratheon, is a mad king, with an affliction of the mind. He is paranoid and sickly. His most recent wife, Queen Karra Baelish of Harrenhal, died in child birth with her third still born baby. The king believes the Old Ones are after him and many believe he is touched, crushing under the weight of his own mental power and his sickly body. Now, at the behest of his aunt, Lady Eirlys Baratheon of Storm's End and with the assistance of his Stormland cousins, Dante Baratheon seeks to take the throne from his elder brother and keep Westeros in a time of peace before it collapses under the weight of another Mad King.

Two years of planning and hard work on the part of many houses have all come a head. A centralized Harvest Festival proved to be a trap for King Alexander; locked in the Throne Room, surrounded by enemies and unsuspecting allies, the king was murdered by his own brother.

The conquest for the throne was quick and clean, seeing only eight causalities. The now king, Dante Baratheon, though visibly shaken by what he had to do, seeks to rebuild in the wake of his tyrannical brother, Alexander. With his young Tyrell wife at his side, and the backing of his Baratheon cousins, it seems he has a good shot of doing just that, or will he be crushed under the weight of ruling as his brother was and fall victim to the same madness Alexander tried to warn him of with his last breath?
